OVERVIEW:

This an early-career graphic design position that supports the Museum’s departments in the creation of digital, print and environmental design products in conjunction with Museum exhibitions, publications, and programs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and production in all mediums: print, digital and environmental
  • Manage assigned projects end-to-end, collaborating with all stakeholders and ensuring projects are on-time
  • Assist with editing and post-production of photographs
  • Assist with organization and management of digital assets
  • Other departmental administrative duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and 1-3 years of experience in a graphic production environment or equivalent combination of formal education and work experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML, CSS and working with a CMS (Craft, WordPress, Drupal, etc.)
  • Creative, innovative approach to design and problem-solving
  • Strong typographic skills and layout principles
  • Knowledge of digital and offset printing methods
  • Ability to apply branding and style guidelines
  • Experience working with a design agency or in-house design team
  • Solid time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work and manage projects independently while also being able to design in a collaborative environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with SaaS products such as Slack, AirTable, Trello and Zapier
  • Experience with nonprofit organizations or cultural institutions
