Calendar / King Tut Art Excursion

California Science Center

Saturday September 15, 2018 at 8:00 am - 6:30 pm

Head north with Mingei friends to the California Science Center, which kicks off the 10-city world tour of KING TUT: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh – the largest King Tut exhibition ever toured. This momentous exhibition commemorates the 100-year anniversary of the discovery of the boy king’s intact tomb. Wander through nine distinct experiential galleries with 3D visuals, digital content and theatrical manifestations; and discover over 150 authentic artifacts from King Tut’s celebrated tomb – 60 of which have never traveled outside of Egypt. Almost half of these artifacts are traveling outside of Egypt for the first and last time before returning for permanent display to the upcoming Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
