Ahaana Presents:

Yoni ki Baat and MenOlogues

5:00 – 7:00PM, Mimosa/Samosa Reception and SAWEN Spotlight

7:00 – 9:00PM, Performance, followed by Q&A and meet the artists

Yoni ki Baat, a South Asian adaptation of Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues, is a nationally recognized live theatre performance.  A growing collection of authentic, bold, powerful and poignant stories told by South Asian women, it is a creative and unique space of sharing and performing true stories.  YKB seems to have a creative life of its own, nurturing a unique space of love, trust and sharing, while simultaneously building community among local South Asian women. Each year the YKB narratives shed light on the special challenges and opportunities experienced within the South Asian socio-cultural context, whether in native lands or in adopted homelands. The powerful monologues are captivating in their intensity, their raw messages questioning societal norms, judgments and prejudices.

This year, and for the first time, Ahaana presents “MenOlogues,” the male version. “Yoni ki Baat” and “MenOlogues” are stories written and performed by both men and women from the South Asian communities.
