Performing music of Ireland, Benjamin Jaber and Peter Polansky will be the final concert in our summer music series.
Benjamin Jaber is a talented multi-instrumentalist who has studied Irish traditional music since his early teens, after being introduced to recordings of the great master Uilleann pipers. He is completely self-taught on the Uilleann pipes (Irish “elbow” bagpipes), wooden flute, and tin whistle, and has made a name for himself as a sought-after performer of traditional Irish music. Ben performed and taught at the Lark In The Morning Camp, the North Texas Irish Festival, the Austin Celtic Festival, the EnnisTradFest, the Féile Parkfield in historic Parkfield, California, and the Willie Clancy Summer School in Milltown Malbay, Co. Clare.
Pete Polansky teaches, records, and performs on guitar, banjo, violin, and bodhran regularly in San Diego and beyond. A Pennsylvania native, Pete studied performance at the Manhattan School of Music and Berklee College of Music. He began playing Irish traditional music as a young adult.
