January Family Sunday Pop Up
Part of the Family Sunday SeriesThis month discover the colorful and symbolic string art of the Huichol people, an indigenous group in Mexico. You will use different colored string, glue and paper mache forms to design your string art sculpture.
Mini Mingei Storytime: Look, discuss and listen during this 30-minute interactive story time intended for art-loving children and families of all ages. Offered at 1:00pm.
At 2pm, share songs, instrument play, rhythm chants and movement activities with Diana Davidson of Songbirds Music.
Come by anytime between 12:30 – 5pm
Performer Bio: Diana Davidson, a life-long singer and dancer. She has many years of experience working with children ages 0-10 in areas of art, language instruction, music, fitness, and dance. Songbirds Music mission is to nurture families and create community through music. Our interactive non-performance based classes are full of singing, dancing, rhythm and tonal play, instrument jams, and family fun.
About Family Sunday
Join us for a Family Sunday Pop-Up, hosted by Mingei International Museum! This free program for all ages includes interactive activities throughout the library, a hands-on art project, musical performances, storytelling, prizes and much more. Each month the Museum partners with local artists and organizations throughout the San Diego region to offer a diverse range of programming tied thematically to the Museum’s permanent collection.
