Visitor Voices | Mingei International Museum

Visitor Voices is an exhibition-specific gallery activation facilitated by Mingei’s Education Team. This program explores the Museum’s exhibitions from the visitor’s own perspective with the understanding that everyone is an expert in their own lived experience. Educators guide engaging conversations, using prompts and questions to help visitors connect personally with each exhibition.

Taking inspiration from Washi Transformed: New Expressions in Japanese Paper and the concept of ephemera, this program invites visitors to bring a sentimental piece of paper-based memorabilia, such as greeting cards, invitations, postcards, tickets, or handwritten notes. Together, participants will delve into how paper, often seen as disposable, can be transformed into cherished mementos with deep personal value.

This program is included with regular admission and typically lasts 45 minutes to an hour. It's open to all ages, welcoming everyone to share their unique perspectives.
