Coffee and Conversations | Mingei International Museum

In this talk, Guusje Sanders, Mingei’s Curator, will explore the history of curatorial practices through the lens of the artist. With a focus on modern and contemporary art, she will explore how artists have responded to institutional spaces, curatorial practices, and how artists have adapted these practices to share their stories and perspectives. 

About Guusje Sanders Guusje Sanders joined Mingei International Museum as Curator in August 2023. Prior to this position, she worked as the Associate Curator for over six years at the Institute of Contemporary Art, San Diego, formerly Lux Art Institute. She has a Master's in Exhibition and Museum studies from the San Francisco Art Institute and a Bachelor's in Art History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
