Coffee and Conversations | Mingei International Museum

In this lecture professor and fashion designer, Susan Lazear will take you on a visual travelogue of color, demonstrating its role as a communicator. Color by color, we will visit cultures around the world and explore the important role given to colors in textiles. You will enjoy learning some of the nuances and tidbits that exist in this world of color. In addition to her slide presentation, Susan will bring textile and clothing samples to share and inspire you!

About Susan Susan Lazear is a Professor of Fashion at San Diego Community College. She also designs pattern-making and stitch design software that serves as design tools for a global audience. Susan is an avid traveler and spends much of her 'adventure time' seeking out global textiles and the facts and lore that revolves around them. As a fashion designer, she creates wearable art and apparel blending a current fashion sense with traditional costumes and global textiles.
