Perro y Arena by Socrates M Medina + Shop Mingei | Mingei International Museum

Come see Una danza a la Baja, a series of ceramic sculptures and paintings in homage to the natural beauty of the Baja. An invitation to dance with coyotes, hares and the moon. This exclusive body of work was created specifically for Shop Mingei by artist Socrates M Medina of Perro y Arena, and will be featured for sale in the store for a limited amount of time. Meet Socrates and watch him at work on Friday, 9/23 from 4-8pm, as part of the San Diego Design Week festivities!

About Perro y Arena Perro y Arena is a creative studio based in Tijuana, Baja California, focused in creating functional and decorative clay pieces. The project is inspired by the flora and fauna of the Californias and by the Mexican and Greek roots of artist Socrates M Medina. Perro y Arena also collaborates with inspiring local creatives that share a similar passion and connection to our natural environment through photography, textiles and fragrances.
