Community Mondays | Mingei International Museum

The event, Arts Under The Mighty OAK, will focus on highlighting arts projects that bring peace to the mind when dealing with emotional trauma. Presented by Oncology and Kids (OAK), participants can take part in three different activities occurring at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm. All the activities are free but registration is required for each event. Schedule of Events

  • 3:00pm - OAK will run an arts and crafts activity focused on creating a small art piece that can be enjoyed by others going through a difficult time.
  • 4:00pm - OAK will coordinate a music circle jam session to learn the beginnings of the ukulele and discuss the role music plays in allowing us to zone out and refocus on the important things in life.
  • 5:00pm - OAK will run a dance lecture and demo with the Performing Arts Workshop and Ballet Collective of San Diego.
  • 6:00pm - OAK will host a reception to support these programs and more that are run throughout our Camp Reach for the Sky childhood cancer camp sessions.

About Oncology And Kids Oncology and Kids (OAK) is for children with cancer and their families who need to recover from the emotional toll of diagnoses and treatment, OAK is the childhood oncology organization that provides a voice, community, and sense of normalcy. It exists to help kids and families heal the emotional scars of childhood cancer and learn to thrive. We provide safe spaces for children affected by cancer and their families to create lasting memories, forge lifelong friendships and build the resiliency they need to heal.
