Education Offerings During Closure

Mingei is planning a major renovation over the next year – one that will transform the way the Museum serves the community. A primary goal of this project is to increase accessibility to the Museum’s collection, exhibition and educational programs for all ages. We are thrilled to share that the new Museum will have a dedicated classroom space, along with new public outdoor areas, a multi-purpose performance space and much more!

Though the Museum’s Balboa Park location will be closed beginning September 3rd, there are many ways for teachers, students and families to experience Mingei during the closure.
