Art Donations | Mingei International Museum

More Information

Our curatorial team reviews donations by committee. We are unable to accept artwork until Spring of 2022, after the collection is fully reinstalled in permanent storage and we can assess our capacity for new acquisitions. That said, we can begin to review potential donations Fall 2021. Please send the following information for each item being offered to our Collections Manager, Emily Brown, at

  • Object/Title
  • Maker/Artist (if known)
  • Medium (material the artwork is made of)
  • Age of object
  • Provenance information (description/identification, origin, culture, previous ownership)
  • Clear/legible photos of the artwork being offered, with detail shots if necessary, especially if there are condition issues, artist signatures, marks, etc.
  • Anything thing else you can share about the object’s history, such as whether it’s been publicly exhibited or if it’s undergone conservation treatment

As a reminder, we are unable to provide estimates as to the monetary value of an object. For that, we suggest contacting an appraiser. The American Society of Appraisers is a good resource for finding someone with the appropriate expertise.

Please Note

Masks are required for all guests (ages 2+) inside the Museum, regardless of vaccination status.
