Join Mingei Staff, including Assistant Curator Ariana Torres, and other Mingei friends for a day of art and exploration in Riverside! We will visit the inspiring and innovative Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture, which opened to the public in 2022, and the architecturally significant Riverside Art Museum.
We’ll kick off the day at The Cheech with a guided tour led by a museum guide. The Cheech features several intriguing exhibits, including Soy de Tejas: A Statewide Survey of Latinx Art as well as the permanent installation “Gaiatlicue” by Einar and Jamex de la Torre. Afterward, enjoy lunch on your own—choose from a host of local landmarks including Tio’s Tacos, the famous Mission Inn, or one of downtown Riverside’s many hidden gems. The afternoon is yours to roam and take in the Riverside Art Museum at your own pace.
The cost of your ticket includes chartered bus transportation, a light breakfast, all tour and museum entry fees, snacks and wine for the return bus ride, as well as a tax-deductible donation to the Museum. Our excursions are a great way to explore our region as we find art of the people in Southern California, Baja, and beyond!
