Travel with Mingei’s Executive Director & CEO, Jessica Hanson York, and other Mingei members to Los Angeles as we spend a relaxing day exploring the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and its new David Geffen Galleries designed by acclaimed Swiss architect Peter Zumthor. Experience the striking new building and discover how its innovative design celebrates the energy and vibrancy of Los Angeles. We will have plenty of time to wander the galleries, explore their special exhibits such as Textile Alchemy: The Art of Reiko Sudō and NUNO and Fashioning Chinese Women.
The cost of your ticket includes chartered bus transportation, a light breakfast, museum entry fee, snacks and wine for the return bus ride, and a tax-deductible donation to the Museum. Lunch is on one's own at LACMA. Our excursions are a great way to get to know Mingei better, even outside of San Diego, as we find art of the people in Southern California, Baja, and beyond!
