Exploring the music, the moves, and the magic of tango

Renowned tango historian Ignacio Varchausky joins us from Buenos Aires to unpack the rhythm of tango—from the music to the dance floor. This lecture, complete with a dance and bandoneon demonstration, reveals how the rhythms, melodies, and iconic steps of tango intertwine. Participants will discover how the dance becomes an extension of the music itself, expressing the passion, precision, and unmistakable pulse of the Río de la Plata. Joining Ignacio are world-class tango dancers Carolina Jaurena and Anton Domansky, coming from New York to illuminate how the music transforms into movement. Through history, musical insight, and live demonstrations, the essence of tango comes vividly to life.
