November 2024 Family Sunday | Mingei International Museum

For this month's Family Sunday workshop, we’ll learn about the art of sashiko, a traditional Japanese embroidery technique. Inspired by the sashiko patterns in our Blue Gold exhibit, participants will make their own coasters using a variety of fabrics, stitching them together. This hands-on activity will give you a chance to practice stitching while creating a functional and beautiful piece to take home. No prior sewing experience is necessary—all ages and skill levels are welcome!

Registration for the 10 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM, and 2 PM workshops will open on Monday, November 11th.

Registration is recommended and walk-ups are welcome if space is available. Please use the links below to sign up for a Family Sunday workshop. Space is limited. If the pre-registration slots are fully booked, walk-ins are still welcome.

Family Sunday is made possible through a generous grant from the ResMed Foundation.
