Join us for a special program inspired by Boundless with a screening of Beatrice Wood: Mama of Dada. Up until the end of her life, Wood continued to inspire younger artists with her free-spirited approach and irrepressible creativity. Central to the American Dada movement and the last surviving member of this groundbreaking group, Wood reflects in this film on her friendships with Man Ray, Francis Picabia, and her former husband Marcel Duchamp.
Following the screening, at 1pm, enjoy a tour of Boundless: Reflections of Southern California Landscapes in Midcentury Studio Ceramics with Curator Guusje Sanders, where Wood’s influence and enduring spirit offer a rich context for understanding the exhibition’s themes of experimentation, beauty, and discovery.
