Art Break | Mingei International Museum

Join us for a day of community and craft as we celebrate the opening of Clearly Indigenous. Throughout the day, we invite you to explore the vibrant continuity of Indigenous artistry, where time-honored traditions meet modern creative expression.

We invite you to a special Art Break with exhibiting glass artist Dan Friday. Dan Friday is a member of the Lummi Nation and a Skagit Valley based artist. He has spent the last 30 years creating works primarily in glass. The themes and images of Friday’s work are often drawn from his Coast Salish heritage and are solidified in the world of glass art. In this talk, Dan will share insights into his contemporary practice and the intersection of ancestral tradition and the luminous world of modern glass artistry. This program is free to the community with an RSVP. We encourage early registration, as seating is limited.

While visiting for the Art Break, we welcome you to experience these complimentary programs taking place in the Gallery:
