Each summer, the British Museum's International Training Programme (ITP) brings together museum professionals from around the world for an intensive residency focused on collaboration, professional development, and knowledge sharing.
This year, Mingei Collections Fellow Sedna Villavicencio joined the program, working alongside colleagues from more than 18 countries and visiting partner institutions throughout the United Kingdom.
In this Coffee & Conversations, Sedna will share insights from her experience and reflect on the role of Indigenous and BIPOC museum professionals in shaping the future of cultural institutions. Drawing from her collaborations with the British Museum, Lincoln Museum, and the University of Nottingham Museum, she will explore the challenges, opportunities, and possibilities for creating meaningful change within museums today.
