Join Josh Herman at Tao of Clay for a two-hour, hands-on Kurinuki workshop. Kurinuki is a traditional Japanese technique of carving forms from a solid block of clay, inviting you to work intuitively and let the material guide you. This process reflects Tao of Clay’s philosophy of feeling your way through creativity and allowing nature to shape your art. It also echoes the themes of Boundless: Reflections of Southern California Landscapes in Midcentury Studio Ceramics, which celebrates artists who draw inspiration from the land—letting form, texture, and place guide their work.
This workshop will take place at Tao of Clay, located at 1012 Sicard St, San Diego, CA 92113. Doors will open at 9:45am. Please allow time for street parking.
