Make at Mingei | Mingei International Museum

Join us on March 22 for a hands-on workshop with artist Kaori Fukuyama. In this workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of Japanese origami and explore how a flat sheet of paper can be transformed into three-dimensional forms. Using basic folding techniques, you’ll create paper sculptures and finish the session by making one or two paper lanterns to take home. Kaori Fukuyama is a San Diego–based multidisciplinary artist whose work draws from Minimalism, Light and Space, and Japanese craft traditions. Her practice explores light, color, and form through careful, material-based experimentation.

Member Early Access is available by email only. Mingei Members will receive a registration link via email on Monday, March 16 at 10 AM. Public Registration opens here on our website on Tuesday, March 17 at 10 AM.

Make at Mingei is made possible through a generous grant from the ResMed Foundation.
