The exhibition was funded in part by the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture and the County of San Diego Community Enhancement Program.

This exhibition included a recent gift of international textiles, an extraordinary Peruvian retablo, Mexican ceramic figures by Teodora Blanco, a traditional Sicilian painted donkey cart, African earthenware pots, a North African saddle, masks from Africa, New Guinea and India, a terra cotta elephant from India, a Middle Eastern pictorial carpet and a Pre-Columbian ceramic funerary vessel.
