The above exhibition with the addition of Wednesday’s Palace by Alice Hudson, Henry Petzal silver, woven room dividers by Eve Gulick, George Nakashima’s New Chair and a Chin Dynasty Tze-Chou ware bottle, along with recent gifts and purchases – two prehistoric kiva bowls, a 19th century water vessel and 20th century owls – all of Zuni origin, two ancient Santo Domingo pottery bowls, six 19th and 20th century Navaho rugs, a contemporary Inuit belt in silver with bone and other inlays by Denise Wallace, from Brazil two Amazonian feathered headdresses and a mask, a trestle table and grass-seated chairs and a Bahut cabinet by George Nakashima, a library table and benches by Sam Maloof, and from China a late 19th century red lacquer water barrel and two red lacquer cabinets, a 19th century Camphor wood chest, two Song Dynasty celadon bowls, a Sancai Guan jar and white glazed candle stand -- both Tang Dynasty, a Han Dynasty natural ash glazed stoneware jar, a Cizhou Guan stoneware jar with brush design, a Jin Dynasty Ci-Zhou Meiping vessel and a large, 19th century wine storage jar.
Playing continuously was the Mingei International videotape “A Palace for Wednesday,” narrated by John Darcy Noble.
