Egg Dolls
For her dolls Yoshiko Teraoka used treasured old fabric from the kimono store that she and her husband owned in Onomichi in the Hiroshima area. Colorful characters in her family and the vivid stories they told inspired her egg dolls. Yoshiko Teraoka came from a family with artistic tradition, and she was the mother of famed artist, Masami Teraoka. One source of his wry sense of humor is clearly revealed in these dolls.
